Every brand in the Boston Made portfolio now has a single place to be read. Boston Made Reader collects the latest stories from across the network — including this newsroom — and presents them in a clean, book-like reading experience.

Reader describes itself as a free literacy resource and “the one Boston Made address that will never ask you for payment.” No login is required to browse.

Built to read like a book

The reading experience is adjustable: readers can scale the text, switch themes and choose between serif, sans-serif, Georgia, Courier and system fonts. The interface is available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, French and Chinese.

A free library

Beyond network news, Reader hosts a library of founding documents and sacred texts, including the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Magna Carta and the Emancipation Proclamation, along with the complete Bible in six translations, the five books of the Torah and all 114 surahs of the Qur’an.

Boston Public Schools begins the 2026–27 school year for grades 1–12 on Tuesday, September 8. Pre-K and kindergarten students start Thursday, September 10, according to the district’s published calendar.

Two opening dates for families

The staggered start means families with children in different grades may have different first-day arrangements. Check each school’s arrival instructions before heading out.

Transportation comes into focus

BPS says new MBTA M7 passes become available beginning September 8. Its transportation team describes planning more than 600 bus routes for roughly 20,000 students each school year, with routes finalized in late August.

For households returning to school and work after Labor Day, confirming the morning route and pickup arrangements is a practical first step. The district’s transportation and school pages provide the most direct starting points for family-specific questions.

Boston Made

Boston Made is rolling out a new virtual learning series designed to help entrepreneurs across the portfolio sharpen the skills that matter most: brand-building, digital marketing, and operations at scale.

The self-paced courses draw on lessons learned building and running the Boston Made family of brands, from web development at Fenway Web to fintech tools at BOSSTOX.

It’s part of a broader push to make the knowledge behind the portfolio’s growth accessible to the wider small-business community in Boston and beyond.
