Boston Made Foundation Opens Its National Business Directory and Community to All
Free profiles, a moderated national business directory, and the grants, mentorship and summit programs the Boston Made Foundation is building next — plus a giving impact planner.
WORCESTER, Mass. — October 9, 2026 — The Boston Made Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Boston Made, Inc., today invited businesses, nonprofits and neighbors to join its national business directory and community at BostonMade.org, and outlined the programs it is building next under its mission of Building a Better Boston Made.
The Foundation exists to connect businesses, amplify community voices and invest in people and places. Its community platform is live today: anyone can create a free profile, join the community feed, start or join groups and follow events. Businesses can submit a directory listing, which the Foundation’s moderation team reviews before it is published.

What the Foundation is building next
Community Grants (proposed) — direct funding for local organizations and small businesses. Eligibility guidelines are in development and will be published before any application window opens.
Business Mentorship — pairing emerging entrepreneurs with experienced leaders. Mentor applications open soon.
Boston Made Summit (planned) — a proposed national gathering of business and civic leaders. Date and format will be announced.
Plan your own impact
Generosity compounds. Use the planner below to see what a modest monthly gift and a few hours of volunteering add up to over a year — then put that number to work with an organization you trust.
Giving & Volunteer Impact Planner
See what a steady habit of giving and showing up adds up to over a year — for you, your team or your company.
Planning estimate only. Tax treatment of any gift depends on the recipient and your situation — consult a tax advisor.
How to give responsibly
Verify the organization. Look up a charity’s registration and financial filings before you give.
Give steadily. Recurring gifts help organizations plan better than one-time spikes.
Ask about matching. Many employers match gifts; it is the easiest way to double your impact.
Give time, too. Skilled volunteering — bookkeeping, marketing, web help — is often worth more than cash to a small nonprofit.

WORCESTER, Mass., October 29, 2026 — Boston Made, Inc. today unveiled five native apps for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch: Boston Made, Paxton, GrandStrand, Spot Check and BOSSTOX. Each app was designed and built from the ground up by Fenway Web, the company’s design and development studio. Each launches with live content from day one, and all five are coming to the App Store as free downloads.
It is the largest single product release in the company’s history. For the first time, the stories, research, guides and local information that run across the Boston Made family of websites live in purpose-built apps that work offline and feel at home on Apple devices. On iPhone, each app opens to a calm, readable feed. On iPad, it becomes a magazine-style layout. On Apple Watch, the essentials sit a glance away.

Boston Made
The whole Boston Made family in one calm feed.
Today’s stories from across the network, saved for offline reading, with a shop of thousands of products on the way.
Live Myrtle Beach weather and tides, a map of the whole Grand Strand and what’s happening today, with local restaurants, venues and real-estate partners joining soon.
Every app in the family shares the same foundation: fast native screens, saved stories that can be read offline, clean typography and a design that matches its brand’s website. The apps follow Apple’s design conventions closely, from Dynamic Type and dark mode to the iPad split layouts and Apple Watch complications.
They also share a privacy-first approach. None of the five apps collects personal data. There are no accounts to create and no tracking, and the apps work the moment they are opened.
What each app does
Boston Made brings the whole Boston Made family into one feed. Today’s stories from across the network arrive in a single place, and any story can be saved for offline reading. On iPad, Today becomes a magazine with big photography and side-by-side reading.
Paxton is healthcare insight, analyzed. Deals, markets and policy are explained in plain English, with briefings that can be saved and read anywhere. Paxton Scout, the research layer, surfaces clinical, IP and market context for the companies in the news.
BOSSTOX covers markets and the AI build-out: data centers, chips, power and the companies building the next era of computing. Live market quotes sit alongside plain-English BOSSTOX research and headlines, and a glanceable research feed lives on Apple Watch. BOSSTOX is research and news, not investment advice.
GrandStrand is the coast, connected: live Myrtle Beach weather and tides, a map of the whole Grand Strand from Little River to Pawleys Island, daily briefings and what is happening today. On Apple Watch, Coast Now shows conditions on the beach in a glance.
Spot Check helps drivers find parking near them, read local parking guides for game days and big events, and save the spots they love. The iPad version puts every garage, lot and driveway along a route on one big map.
GrandStrand on iPad, iPhone and Apple Watch.
What comes next
The launch is a starting line. Over the coming months, each app picks up features that turn it from a reader into a place to get things done:
BOSSTOX: in-app stock trading is on the way. The app today is markets, research and headlines; trading is not yet available.
Paxton: a healthcare marketplace is being built into the app.
Boston Made: a shop with thousands of products is coming to the Boston Made app.
Spot Check: through a partnership with LAZ Parking, thousands of bookable parking spaces are coming into the app.
GrandStrand: Myrtle Beach restaurants, venues and real-estate agents are joining the app to showcase the best of the coast.
Lumo and PUPWEAR® are next in line for their own apps.

This week we finished rolling a shared navigation layer across the twelve Boston Made sites. Different themes, different hosts, different ages. Here is what changed, and what we’d recommend for any multi-site business.
1. One shell, served from one place
Each site loads a single script that renders the same network bar, footer and call-to-action from one master file. Change the file once and every site updates. If you run more than one site, stop copying footers by hand.

2. Fixed elements get a stacking rule
Our dock was invisible on one site because the theme’s main wrapper had a z-index of 9999. Decide the order once: content, then header, then docks, then notifications, then dialogs. Write the numbers down.
3. Notifications never cover navigation
Cookie prompts and popups now measure the dock and sit above it. A banner that covers your primary navigation is a banner people close without reading.
4. Mobile menus are lists, not posters
We replaced full-bleed photo tiles with compact rows: a small thumbnail, a readable label, a chevron. Photos in a menu should help you recognize a destination, not compete with its name.
5. One search for the whole network
The flagship homepage now searches stories from all twelve sites and offers direct actions. If a visitor cannot find your other brands from your main site, they do not exist to that visitor.
The test we use
Open every site on a phone, as a stranger. Can you tell they belong together in two seconds? Can you get from any one to any other in one tap? If not, you have a portfolio, not a network.
